Met de hand opgebouwd steengoed sculptuur. 2008 Prijs € 1900,00
Marion Askjaer exhibited in our gallery in 1989, 1994 en in 2011. This Potter from Arnhem showed at the time mainly large woman’s heads, a timeless theme that was to become her main expression. The heads that have always had a mysterious radiation have brought her many successes. These heads of which the special hairdress vanishes by itself into the mass of the head itself, are hand built in hollow form. She uses several different clays, and in the finishing she applies coloured slips and partly glaze too. In this way she ensures that her sculptures get a lively performance. This is reinforced by the structures she applies in the still wet clay; sometimes holes, sometimes engraved lines. By the complentative way of working the sculptures are getting an internal strenght as we also can see in Asiatic art and also in the art of the primitives.
