Chikako Inaba (1974-Yokohama)
She completed her education at Musushino Art University in 1996, after which she studied at the Pottery and Design Institute in Tajimi City through 2001. Starts to exhibit in 2001 in Japan, followed by Korea, Taiwan and since 2015 in Finland, Oldenburg (D) and Gmunden (A) 2018. Chikako makes molded stoneware in white baking stoneware clay with semi-matt white glaze. The ribbed surface structure of the work has a strong light and shadow effect. The curly sometimes complicated shapes make this work an adventure to fathom, take it in your hand and follow the form. Turn the shape and with every other view you will be surprised again.
